Thence off to the pub for our annual pre-Golf Tour get together. Our gathering took place in the Plough in Stoke d'Abernon and we were treated to the news that our flights to Inverness next month have been cancelled by the airline, FlyBe, who have decided that the route is unprofitable... Our chief organizer has come up with a Plan B, which does involve a bit more driving, but seems to work. Let's just hope that neither EasyJet nor BA are as cavalier about their flight schedules...
A year in the life of a Burhill Captain. This Blog is intended to be a personal record of the 365 days that I shall devote to the captaincy of Burhill Golf Club. Anyone is free to read or comment on it as long as they remember that this is a purely personal site.

Day 57 - Present & Future
Monday saw the start of a busy golfing week: today was a home match vs Wentworth. The opposition had elected to play on the New Course and it was fun to hear them waxing lyrical about the state of the greens there - "much better than ours" etc. That being said, they clearly were not totally to their taste as Burhill emerged victorious by a score of 6 1/2 to 1/2. We look forward to the return fixture in June!
In our Burhill annual membership packs, we had all been given vouchers for a free round of golf. These were soon to expire, so we decided to make use of them this evening. My daughter works at P&G in Weybridge, and she was keen to play with her boyfriend, so we had a very pleasant evening 9 holes together on the Old Course.
